The sync singals are seperate pins from the color signals in a VGA connector and you'd need an active converter box to split that out if you're trying to go from Compoent to VGA. The converter box you listed should be fine though (I use a similar box to hook my PS2/3 up to the VGA monitor in my arcade cabinet). Those are intended to go from VGA to component but not the other way around. One thing to point out is that any device you buy -has- to be an upscaler or it will not work very well.

Asking because believe it or not we still use CADKEY 99 at work and I'd like to be careful to not install a key we're already using unless I'm able to.
