It depends on whether the Primo version is an original OEM or a cracked version. If an OEM version you can only update the maps via NaviExtras toolbox and pay whatever the asking price is or download and install a cracked version of Primo to replace the original version.
If you already have a cracked version just download the new maps and replace the files in the corresponding content folders. I purchased IGO Primo 2.4 from ebay, however it is slow and erratic. Even though, my unit is supposed to have 1G Ram and the CPU runs at 1G. I've attached ResInfo. I decided to keep the original IGO Primo that came with the unit (and works very well!) and update it with the maps that came with IGO Primo 2.4, as they are 2015 Q2.

You have a 99% chance the purchased 2.4 on ebay is a cracked one, since NavNGo (the maker) doesn't sell their software in the open - reason why so many cracked version are around. How to update: post 2. @Boofa It is not the maps that are cracked. The maps available here are exactly the same as you would download using Naviextras Toolbox. The difference is that you won't be able to use them on an OEM version as the license for your original map will not allow it. Only a cracked version of iGO8 or Primo will allow you to use the maps downloaded from here.

Just a few days ago, the second set of maps designed for iGO Primo, Nextgen and the other NNG apps has been launched. HERE maps are gaining popularity amongst those using iGO Primo or Nextgen navigation software. The new set is dubbed Q1.2016; it brings database updates to the version released in the first half of 2016. Points of interest (POI) database has been improved while the new truck mode available on iGO Primo Truck runs better thanks to new map updates. Fixes and updates have been done over the Eastern Europe territories where national road infrastructure has been corrected, while for the Western part of Europe, accuracy is close to 100%.
