Hello, I'm not sure if this is the appropriate category for this question. We've developed a USB 3.0 HUB. It's a standard hub. However, when we connect it to a Surface Pro machine, it is shown as a Generic USB Hub. When we check the speed, it is saying that the operation is at 'high-speed'. This would entail that the hub is operating at USB 2.0.
Usb 3.0 Peripherals
Further verification with UsbView, the speed is indeed shown as USB 2.0. However, when we connect this hub to a Surface 2 RT machine, the name shown there is as 'Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub'. Being 'SuperSpeed', we assume that it is properly operating at USB 3.0 speed. We cannot verify the actual speed on the Surface 2 machine because the UsbView app does not run on the Windows RT OS.
My question is: Why will Surface Pro not recognize our hub to be Usb 3.0? I've read in forums mentioning that there is a bug with the Intel driver? Is this true? Is there a problem with the first generation Surface Pro regarding the USB 3.0 port? Chef games on facebook. We've checked for xHCI driver and it appears to be present. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
